Owls!

I'm surprised I still have time to do my hobbies ;) with a newborn in arms all day it takes forever to do something, but slowly I manage to finish some projects.
In a meantime I lost my camera somewhere, so best I can post is iPhone quality photos... And since I'm using iPhone to post while holding baby and walking around it's quite hard for me to write a proper blog post.
I'd like to do it better but I can only hope I'll have time for that in next months... ;)
Hat pattern is from One Artsy Mama and amigurumi owl pattern you can find on Raverly.

Happy New Year!

Ornament Exchange @ One Artsy Mama

Lately I'm not doing much crafting as I'm trying to prepare myself and my house for the arrival of my baby (3 weeks left! although I really hope he'll get out of me sooner :P). I'm piling up on crochet snowfalkes, hoping for a nice sun someday soon so I can take some nice photos of them and put them in my Etsy shop...

In a meantime I made my present for the ornament exchane @ One Artsy Mama. It's already on it's way to USA :) I really hope the recipent will like it :)

I didn't want to wait for good weather to take proper photos of it, as I wanted to ship it quickly, before I'll have no time to do anything (I mean - before the baby comes ;) ), so here it is - Poor-Quality-Bad-Lightening-iPhone-photos:

And here is my instagram photo :)

Have a nice day! xx

Cowl/infinity scarf

Hello everyone :)
Here it is, the cowl I was talking about :)
I need to make another one for myself from this yarn (Wendy Serenity Super Chunky), it's so nice and warm!
I was surprised how hard it is to work with such chunky yarn, I thought it'll be much easier than working with smaller one!

I adapted the pattern for a square from The Crochet Bible (alternating shell and V stitch) and I think it came up really nicely :)

Here you can find this cowl on Ravelry and here you can buy it on Etsy.

It's lenght when it lays flat is 93cm and the width is 18cm.

I'm still working on my blanket... It takes so much time... I'm so tired of granny stitch :P

phone sock/cover

Hello!
I really wanted to show today a cowl/infinity scarf that I made yesterday, but the weather today was so bad and it get dark so early, that I wasn't able to take a photo of it... Hopefully tomorrow the weather will be a bit nicer and I'll catch some sun :)

Couple of days ago I made myself a phone sock. I was planning on making it a long time ago, but I couldn't decide on the pattern. Last week I was searching for newblogs to read and I came across one blog (I have no idea what blog was it... :( ) where I saw a blanket with a nice looking edging. I thought it'll look awesome as a phone sock - and I was right :)
Here's what I made:

Here you can find this phone sock on Ravelry.

So many ends to wave in in such a small project... That was the worst part :P

I used 4mm hook, two colors of Hayfield Bonus DK yarn and some yarn that I don't know the name of (sparkly one).

Today I recived set of bamboo hooks that I oredered on eBay. I was very curious how different it will be, working with bamboo hooks instead of metal/plastic ones. As I'm still slowly (very slowly) working on my Giant Granny Square blanket I decided to try it on this project. I was very disappointed and I find it easier to work with metal hook. Maybe it's because the hook I tried was only 4mm as it looks like with larger hooks (7-10mm) I shouldn't find it so hard to work with them... Well, I'll try them later on.

A lot of puff stitches - scarf & gloves

Firstable, here's a scarf that I was talking about last time - manly version of my puff stitch scarf :)

Here you can find this scarf on Ravelry.

I made 125 rows of puff stitches and 10 rows of dc (5 on each side).
I used 5mm hook and Kirkton House Rustic Aran Yarn.

Next, fingerless gloves for my friend. I made one like this before for myself but I'm not to happy with how they turned out, so right now they are put on the side waiting to be unraveld...
Here you can find this gloves on Ravelry.

I couldn't wait for good light to take a photo of them as I finished them during the evening and I gave them to my friend very same night ;)
I used 4mm hook and Hayfield Bonus DK yarn.

Wish you all a good day!

Puff stitch scarf

Hello!
As I said in my last post, I was working on a scarf. I'm very proud of myself as it turned out exactly how I imagined it :)
Now I'm working on similar one, but a manly version - grey one, without pom poms and with normal sized "endings" ;)

Unfortunatelly during past couple of days there was NO sun at all, it was gloomy all the time, so I had to make these photos in very bad lightening... That's the beauty of living in UK... :(

There's 160 rows - 140 rows of puff stitches and 20 rows (10 on each side) of dc, so it's quite long ;)
For more informations (yarn & hook used, pattern) check out my ravelry :)

And the one I'm working on right now:

I also signed up for an ornament exchange at One Artsy Mama
I can't wait to recive details of the person that I'll make the ornament for! I'm so excited about this! :)

Have a nice day!
